FaceTime is used for video and audio calls. You can call other people by using FaceTime on a Macintosh, or an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad. Similar to the Messages application, learn how to sign in and call people using FaceTime. Also see what it looks like to receive an incoming call from another person.
- [Instructor] FaceTime is another application…that comes bundled with Mac Os…and it's all about video and audio chats.…One of the main benefits of FaceTime…is that it runs on iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches…as well as computers.…And it works through the iMessage service.…So if you somebody who has an iPhone…and they've set up an iMessage account,…you can call them and have a face to face…video conversation.…And of course, if you want to learn how to set…this up on your iPhone or iPad,…check out one of our iPhone and iPad…essential training courses.…So I'll start by getting my own computer set up…and then I'll call somebody.…
I have the FaceTime application here in the dock…so I'll click on that to launch it.…Now as soon as you launch the application,…if you have a webcam on your computer,…it will be live and you'll see your image here.…So this might be a little distracting,…but we'll go ahead and go with it…and we can continue through the movie.…But you can get kind of a look at the recording booth…that I use here to record these courses…
