- You don't have to be an extrovert to speak up in a meeting. You may not know this, but I'm not naturally an extrovert. I used to be terrified of saying the wrong thing in a meeting, so I just kept silent and nodded, and never got noticed. Once I started to speak up though, I was noticed by senior management, and I was given more opportunities all the way to the C-level because they knew who I was. Speaking up is actually really easy if you know the right way to do it. Here are some ways to share your ideas in a meeting and how to handle conflict if it comes up. First thing, sit at the middle of the table. It's easier to get noticed there. Speak up early. Waiting too long can lead to your ideas being brought up by someone else. By speaking up early, you can be an innovator and a visible leader. And don't hesitate, be confident. You have knowledge on this subject, so share it.
