Join Haydn Thomas for an in-depth discussion in this video On stopping projects, part of Insights from a Business Analyst.
As a business analyst you sometimes don't have the authority…to stop a project.…But what you will do is you'll come across information…whereby what was originally expected,…you're never going to get there with the information…and weighing the commitment and entusiasm…from your stakeholders.…As a business analyst…we spend a lot of time with our stakeholders.…And the reason is, is that we're trying…to elicit what their needs are,…what their opportunities are,…sort of what is needed to be able to deliver against it.…And what I actually find is that…projects that seem to stall…or there is a lack of enthusiasm and motivation…or commitment to the project,…tells you something that they're…not necessarily buying into it.…
Now when they're not buying into it,…the number one reason for project success…is user involvement.…So if they're not getting involved,…it's a true signal that something should stop.…Now it doesn't necessarily mean you have to kill the project…but it might be an opportunity to just…press the pause button,…
