- One of the things that we really need to understand today is just how much job search has changed in the last decade. If you think about it, back in the day, we used to get a job, we'd stay at a company our entire lifetime, and those days are gone. You know, there are studies that show that as much as half of our workforce will be independent contractors within the next five years. That's pretty mind-blowing when you think about it. Every job is temporary now, so you're going to have to look for work over and over and over again in your lifetime. I like to tell people that you're not an employee anymore.
You're really a business of one. And what does that mean exactly? Well, if you're going to have to look for work over and over again, you're not going to work for that employer, you're going to work with that business partner. You're going to provide your services to them. And that means that you're going to have to be able to show your value repeatedly. Do you know how to market yourself? Do you know how to explain the value that you can bring to an employer? That's really the secret here. That's what's needed in job search today for you to stay employable a lifetime, for you to have the best career opportunity.
And really that's an opportunity. It's an exciting opportunity, because if we can decode this, if we can unlock it and understand it and embrace it as a business of one, think about what you can do for yourself and your career, especially if you know exactly what you need to say, and how you need to say it to recruiters, the individuals that you're looking to impress and connect with. So think about this. Think about the future of your business of one. What do you want for it? How can you market it? How can you present your value and deliver it in a way that attracts the very people that you're trying to reach.
This course will help job seekers tap a valuable source by showing them how to connect more effectively with leading recruiters in their industries.
