- Stepping in midway…is actually the most common instance…for when you have to rescue…a troubled project.…There are instances where a project manager…will get into trouble and then realize…hang on this is not going well…and I've got to do something different.…But mostly, you get the opportunity…to take over from someone else…and you inherit what you inherit.…It's actually an interesting role.…I always look at it as well,…this is in trouble, it can't get any worse.…
So it gives me license to do things differently.…That's the key,…that is the key.…What has happened, has not worked.…So you need to do something different.…Now, some projects should not be rescued.…Because they were ill conceived…in the first instance.…Or there are senior stakeholders that do not agree…and will not come to agreement.…And moving forward with a project like that…is a waste of time and energy.…
If you can't get that uniformity…of what it is you're supposed to produce,…it's time to just throw in the towel.…So, let's exclude for a minute those projects…
