The release process

- One of the most exciting and sometimes stressful parts of creating a product is releasing a new version into production. On one hand, it's exciting to see your product get into the hands of customers. On the other hand, the release process itself involves a lot of people and needs to be managed and communicated carefully for things to go smoothly. Now, the product manager is often responsible for communicating a release, and that's a big task. It begins by confirming with your engineering team, usually your tech lead, that they are ready to begin a release process. From there, you're responsible for following your company's release process. For organizations with multiple product teams, it's likely there are dedicated release teams responsible for all product releases. This communication should happen before you're ready to begin testing. The release team likely has a specific release schedule, and it's your job to coordinate with them.
