The product roadmap

- For a long time, the product roadmap has been a staple of communication between the product manager and executive leadership. There are two main reasons why. First, the leadership wants to know that the product team is working on the highest-value tasks first. Second, they need to be able to plan and run the business. The product roadmap has historically served as a commitment for new feature or functionality launches, which they use to plan things like marketing initiatives, hiring, and more. These two reasons are driven by the leadership. In fact, it's often the CEO. So they're not going to change anytime soon. So as a product manager, you'll need to communicate to the CEO that your team is focused on the right things, and also be able to share some timelines for planning.
