- Working from home sounds awesome. A lot of my friends tell me oh, you're so lucky you work from home. Working from home can be extremely challenging. Dogs, kids, mailmen, landscapers, salespeople and a lot of other interruptions are going to disrupt your workflow. There are also a lot of distractions when you work from home. Are you going to work on the client presentation, or are you going to put up the holiday decorations outside because it's a nice day? Or maybe that couch is calling your name for a nice Tuesday afternoon nap. Working from home can be lonely, too. You're not interacting with coworkers. Contact is limited to email and talking on the phone. Know the downsides of working from home before you go down that path. Some things that have helped me work from home include creating a dedicated workspace. When you have that dedicated workspace, let your family know hey, when I'm in the study I'm not here, I'm at work. Consider hanging a no soliciting sign or a sign that says…
