- Designers are first and foremost creative people. One major part of their job is to create a visual representation for the future of a project, not just as it stands now. With that in mind, you'll wanna tailor the way you communicate with your designers so that you can make the most of your collaborative relationship. Here are a few tips to help you do that. Firstly, give them creative freedom but be clear about limitations. In a way, this is similar to working with engineers. Give them details about any hurdles or limitations but beyond that, encourage them to exercise full creative freedom in their work. Secondly, don't outsource to your own teammates. Your designers aren't just there to make things look pretty, it's a mistake to marginalize or exclude them from the rest of the process.
