Why you deserve success

- Sometimes when small business owners achieve success in their business they're surprised when they start to feel guilty. Recently, I had a client who went on vacation, and while she was on vacation she felt guilty about the fact that she was enjoying the vacation while her employees were still back at the business working. In this video, I want to help you understand why not only is success not something you should feel guilty about, but why it's something you deserve. First of all, entrepreneurs deserve success because on the whole they do good. It's my experience that the average entrepreneur, the business owners want to improve the world. Sometimes you want to improve the world with your business, you want to make your neighborhoods or your city a better place, you want to give people a better quality of life, and also sometimes business owners have something else that they want to do after they completely harvest their business. Perhaps they want to get involved in a nonprofit, or use their money and influence to help others. Owning a business is not just about money, it's about the good that you're going to do with that money. The second reason why you deserve success is because you're a visionary, you see what others do not see. That gives you an advantage and the courage to create a business, that visionary quality doesn't necessarily make you better than someone else, but it is unique and it does deserve to be rewarded. Number three is that you're a risk taker. Those who take the greatest risk are entitled to receive the greatest reward, and as a group small business owners take huge risks. You are risking your credit, you are risking time that could be spent doing other things, you may be risking relationships, you're doing this all in pursuit of a long term reward of building that business. The highest risk deserves the highest reward. Number four, you're a job builder. You're helping other people, your success, your business's success is the success of other people. As your business grows, you're able to hire more, and you're not just helping people by providing an income to them, you're helping their families as well. I know a business owner who has a scholarship program for the children of his employees. Finally, I believe you deserve success simply because you're you. As a human being, as someone just working as hard as you can to do the best you can, I believe that you're just entitled to some reward, and you should reward yourself from time to time because you're you. Remember, when you start to feel guilt, remind yourself of these things. Remind yourself that you deserve success, and not only can you succeed, but you should succeed.
