Who are post-9/11 veterans?

- Who are veterans? Maybe someone in your family is a veteran. They might have served in Korea, Vietnam, even World War II. There a lot of veterans in the US today, including those who served in peacetime or in conflicts such as Desert Storm. The group I focus most heavily on are what we call post-9/11 veterans. These are the men and women who signed up to serve after the attacks in 2001 or were in active duty at the time of the attacks. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, in 2013 we had more than 2.6 million post-9/11 veterans who had returned from active duty service and it's estimated that we're gonna see 3.5 million veterans transition to civilian live by 2023. This indicates a huge swell in a workforce that makes employers take note. To get us started, let's look at a typical veteran.
