When to confirm or pivot

- Once you've talked to real users about their real problems, you can finally confirm whether or not your problem hypothesis was correct. You'll fall into one of three categories, you were right, your assumptions were correct, and you validated them with real users, or, you were close, but there are some key points of difference to consider before you're sure you've identified the right problem. Last, you were totally off and your users didn't mention your assumptions as problems at all. If you were right and validated your problem hypothesis, that's great, you'll move on to the next stage of customer development, which is customer validation. If you were close, you'll want to make some key changes to your hypothesis and conduct another round of interviews to make sure you have a grasp on the users' problems.
