Skills as a BA are very broad-ranging.…Obviously, you need the ability to question.…Questioning and curiosity.…To really delve past the vanilla answer…that someone will provide you,…to get really to the understanding,…the root cores of what people are really trying to get.…If you ask people why do they go, they do -…They say, "Oh, it's just to make things better."…But if you start using the technique…of what we call, "The Five Why's",…where you're constantly asking,…"Why? Why? Why?"…It's like that five-year-old curious child,…constantly trying to seek information so that they…can understand the context of what's going on.…
So, listening and questioning skills is probably…the number one skill that a business analyst needs.…The second one is to basically go…and use that information to…source other sources of information.…So, in other words, the cross-checking.…You're on a plane - lock doors and cross-check.…It's like anything - if you take information…in isolation, it's very difficult to ensure…that what you have is accurate…
