- Product management is one of the most nebulous yet important roles in modern technology, though with the lack of formal training out there, it can be really hard to make sense of it, and that's whether you're new to the role or even a veteran. Personally, I found the most progress in my career picking up tips from others and making a lot of mistakes along the way. I'm Cole Mercer. I've been teaching product management for over four years to over 34,000 students. I've also worked as a product manager at enterprise, ecommerce, and major consumer companies like SoundCloud. In this weekly series I'll be sharing tips and best practices with you to help you be more successful in your role and work across teams more effectively. I'll cover everything from industry buzzwords and metrics frameworks all the way down to how to run effective meetings and best interact with your peers. What I've found more than anything over the years is that there's no perfect way to do the job.
