Welcome

- In today's world, you have salespeople who sell and then you have engineers who build. But who bridges those two extremes? That's the main responsibility of the Sales Engineer. There are about half a million Sales Engineers in the workforce today and that need is growing annually at eight to 10%. But, to be a Sales Engineer, you need to blend your technical skills with your people skills, and that's why I'm here, to help you do just that. Hi, I'm John Care, the Author and Managing Director of Mastering Technical Sales. I've spent over 30 years in the business. I've been everything from a Sales Engineer to a VP of an almost 200 person organization. In this course, I'll give you a top-level view of what technical sales involves and the key skills and capabilities that you need to take on the role. I'll also provide some great tips and techniques to get you started, such as how to uncover business problems, then link your technology to those business problems and present your solution back to the customer, just to name a few. Because, to quote Dan Pink, "We all sell, whether we know it or not." Now, let's get started.
