Use office equipment

- Technology is rapidly changing the modern-day office. Still you may run into more traditional office equipment like printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, and other basic items in you day to day job. It's important to be familiar with the following. How to make colored, black and white, and collated copies on your copier, how to print from your computer to a network printer, how to clear a paper jam, what paper can and cannot be used in the printer, what types of toner is used and how to replace it, how to reset a printer when it's not working properly, who to call when a piece of office equipment needs to be repaired. If your office has a smart board it's good to know what markers can and cannot be used, what cleaner you can use, how to repair any technical issues. If your office still uses fax machines be sure that they are always stocked with paper and you know the phone number to each machine and the location. These may seem like minor things, but they can actually be very time consuming if you're not familiar with them. The main thing is to make sure you know where each piece of office equipment is located and how to operate them. This way you'll have a good understanding of how you can fix any issues that may arise.
