- If you're selling into tech companies, you need to understand the world of technology. Selling into technology can mean a lot of different things. So to set yourself up for success, you need to determine where your customer fits in this massive world of tech. There are three big buckets. The first is hardware. These are the physical pieces of technology, things like expanded memory cards, keyboards, monitors, servers, smartphones, and printers. It might be easy to think that tech only exists in the cloud. But while the ever-present cloud is growing, hardware makes sure you have something to access the cloud with. Another element is software. This is the part of technology you can't see.
