- Storage in an office is extremely important for efficiency and productivity as well as visual calm. But with so many storage options available, knowing what'll work best for you is important. Before choosing any storage pieces, remember your answers to the questions in the "What You Need to Know" movie. Think about the tasks you'll be performing and the materials you'll need as well as how often you'll use them. Next, think about the items you'll use the most throughout the day. These are the things you should be able to reach without stretching, twisting, or bending. Place those items in the drawers or on the desktop near where you'll usually be sitting. Use drawer dividers or containers to separate the different types of supplies. If you have limited or no drawer space, use desktop organizers to keep your common supplies in reach.
