Tips for doing great research

- Before you sign a contract and commit to a venue, make sure you do your research. Of course, you should thoroughly read through all of the marketing materials that the venue will provide, but do some of your own independent research too. Read online reviews, and when you do, be sure to look through user photos, not just the professional ones that always look amazing. If you can find reviews from people in your area, or industry, those can be extra insightful. Look for quality articles and posts about the venue. If it's made it to any top 10 lists, or won any hospitality, or best of awards, then that's a really good sign. The venue might also have a press section on their website where you can find articles and reviews about the property. Also, don't forget to ask around. If you have other professional event planners in your network, ask them if they've had any experiences with the venue you're considering.
