- The conversation about our relationship with technology is the central conversation of our time. We all think that when we are always on, when we are multitasking, we become more efficient. And yet, all modern neuroscience makes it very clear that's not the case, and multitasking doesn't exist. We actually switch tasks, and that's stressful and not efficient. And yet, if you walk down the streets of New York, you see hardly anybody just walking.
People are walking and talking on the phone or walking and texting. Sherry Turkle is a real thought leader in this field. She has been an incredible influence of me when it comes to understanding the deep impact that being constantly tethered to our phones has on our empathy, on our humanity, and on our health. I'm so excited for you learn from Sherri the way I've learned so much from her.
