Selling the why—and how
- Why you? Of all the people qualified for and interested in this job, why should the hiring manager choose you? Put yourself in the position of the person deciding who is a fit, who brings the skills and passion, talent and experience, required for the job, who would work well with others on the team. Would you pick you? During an internal interview, you might think you have it easy and don't have to sell yourself. After all, you work down the hall from everyone interviewing you. But you do have to make a case for why you are the best fit for the job, and in doing so, you have to promote your personal brand. Your brand is who you are, not what you do.
