- There are over one billion active websites on the internet. That's a billion with a B. So, before conducting your own surveys and interviews, it's a good idea to take advantage of the information at your fingertips and learn what you can about your hypotheses from secondary research sources. Secondary sources include anything that you don't learn directly from your users. That can be academic research, private research firms, consumer reports, or interviews with experts. By looking first for information that is readily available to you, you may quickly get an indication if you're on the right track or totally off base.
