- Here we are in Lesson Two. First of all, how did we do in Lesson One: Sleep & Meditation? For me, when I started prioritizing my sleep and getting enough sleep, the hardest thing was not feeling that I had to answer every email and every text before I could turn out the lights. And, ultimately, getting a good night's sleep has to start with the transition to sleep, and that, for me, was the hardest thing. Because we all have such a hard time prioritizing ourselves. We always seem to think everything else, including every email, is more important than our own sense of wellbeing. I remember when I lived in DC, I was still married, my children were young, we had just moved into a new home. I was decorating the house. I was working on a new book. And my birthday was coming up. In the course of all that, I went to Georgetown Hospital for what I thought was a routine checkup.
