- This is from a pitch deck I sat through recently. Here's another one. And yeah, there were really 87 slides in that deck. No joke! Those decks were long, generic, and incredibly ineffective. Technology companies know about pitch decks. Not only do they see a lot of them, but they also use them, every day, to sell to their customers. So, tech companies are experts in deciphering a strong pitch deck from a generic one. That's why your pitch deck needs to stand out from the pack. To do that, you'll need to include two things your competitor might be missing. First is a level of personalization. This can be a photo of you at the end of the deck, a few words about why you chose the industry you're in, or a heartfelt thank you for the time your buyer took to have that exploratory conversation.
