Patent infringement
So you get a patent. What does that give you? What do you get when you get a patent? You get the right to sue people. Same with a copyright, same with a trademark, intellectual properties about obtaining the rights to sue people to stop them. So, if you're infringing somebody's patent they will sue you for patent infringement And the litigation will seek to stop you from doing what you're doing as well as get damages. The damages might be an assessment of what profits you've made. It might be an assessment of what damages the patent owner suffered as a result of your infringement. But in any event, the damages can be quite significant. So, a patent owner has the right to sue somebody for an injunction and for damages. Well, what are you suing for? You're suing for patent infringement. What is that? Well, the claims of the patent are essentially the metes and bounds of the, of the property that is granted in a patent.
