Join Tatiana Kolovou for an in-depth discussion in this video Overview of the five reflection techniques, part of Building Resilience.
- The challenging event happened. The stress was almost a physical effort, but now, you have a chance to look back and reflect. That sounds logical, right? Not really. More often than not, we try to forget and move on. We rarely make ourselves go back and carefully reflect on the event. But, in fact, reflection is among the most valuable and most under-used processes of learning. We go through a process, for example, perhaps a new project at work, a tough conversation with our boss, and then we just move on.
Building a resilience threshold has a lot to do with taking the time to go back and learn from those sorts of experiences. This is what we will do with the five post-event strategies. We'll be visiting each of these strategies individually, while I ask you to think of a recent event that required you to show resilience, and apply each of the reflection strategies with the help of the exercise files.
