- Questions are at the heart of getting insights from your data. You've seen a lot of techniques to help your team ask better questions. Still, all of these techniques aren't going to be very helpful unless you're comfortable questioning. There might be a combination of several different reasons why your team would have trouble asking questions. There are four that are common with data science teams. The first is that the team members have a natural desire to protect themselves. No one wants to seem wrong or uninformed. If you're in a group with other professionals, it's especially hard to challenge someone else's ideas. It take courage to ask a good question. It makes you vulnerable, especially if you're working for an organization that places a lot of value on answers. Asking good questions takes practice.
