- I worked with an organization during really lean economic times. Most fringe benefits were reduced and significant cuts were made to the learning and development budget. Most employees remained loyal throughout the reductions but when there was less financial investment in the development of the employees, many of them became disillusioned. The organization domain focuses on understanding the need for designing and delivering training and development opportunities to employees. The components contribute to positive employee/employer relationships, and employee loyalty, both of which are integral to a company's success. The five functional areas in this domain are the structure of the HR function, organizational effectiveness and development, workforce management, employee and labor relations, and technology management. 17 percent of the questions on the SHRM-CP are from this domain.
