But it's a necessary part of your business so congratulations for exploring this issue and spending time with this course. Here's five things for you to go do next. Get involved. Look up your local industry body, either generic small business associations or bodies that serve your specific industry. Many of these will have tax guides. Find them and read them. Get organized. Next, find a calendar that shows your annual tax commitments. This could be published by your federal tax authority or an industry body, or even a local business publication. Make a copy for yourself, either print or digital, and mark time before each milestone to make sure you're paying attention. This could be a few months out for tax return research and preparation or the beginning of the year to make strategic decisions, or even just a monthly calendar entry that says, "Pay sales tax tomorrow."
