Midpoint check and end

- You put a lot of thoughtful design into the beginning of the coaching engagement. Do the same for the midpoint and the end. Plan a midpoint check to help your leader know how their doing with plenty of time to make adjustments. It could include a brief survey to stakeholders who give confidential ratings and comments about the leader's progress and areas for improvement. For more detail, you could also do another round of interviews. Often leaders prefer a similar approach at the end of the engagement. Now whether or not you do that, do much more at the end. Give your leader an ending that's both valuable and memorable. You probably understand what your leader's been through better than anyone else in their organization. How much time and effort they put in to change and improve. How far they've come. And what it really means to them. Set up a final meeting with your leader and come in well prepared. Offer specific, genuine appreciation for your leader's efforts and achievements…
