Leading yourself

(upbeat music) - So what do you do if your boss sucks? I'm Elizabeth McLeod, and I'm one of the authors in the LinkedIn learning course, Leading Yourself. And it was really important to me to write this course about leading yourself because I am a firm believer that your destiny is in your own hands. So during the course, we talk about how to set goals, how to measure yourself, how to give yourself an honest performance evaluation, and how to look for ways you can improve even if you don't have a boss or an organization that's doing that for you. You can still take control of your own work life. I think it's important now, especially as so many people transition to remote working or contractors, and even the way leadership is now where you have a job on the side of being a leader. Used to be being a leader was your whole job. The onus is so much more on the individual to really take charge of their development, and that's what this course is all about. (upbeat music)
