In the previous video we created a position description, an outline of what you will need when you hire a new employee. In order to get the most out of this video please complete the suggested activity in that video first. Before we proceed with discussing how to interview candidates, it's essential to be cautious. There are a variety of do's and don'ts when it comes to interviewing and hiring. In general be sure not to make race, gender, age, national origin, religion, or marital status any part of your interviewing questions. Avoid questions that even get close to these areas. Other governments also have laws against discrimination for sexual lifestyle or smoking habits so as you consider the suggestions I make here I recommend you consult with a qualified legal advisor as to your local laws and other topics of conversation to avoid.
