- Work culture can be hard to determine, but it's not impossible. It just takes a little work. Many companies promote their culture on their website. Although a good starting point on its own, the website may not be enough to fully reflect the culture. Combining a website review with secondary research can be valuable and is recommended. Some good secondary sources include the career section of the organization's website, recent press releases and news articles on the organization, LinkedIn profiles of those in positions you're seeking, and comments on sites like Glassdoor. You don't want to spend all of your time online doing research. There are some things you just can't find online. An online search usually won't tell you how people work together, what balance you'll have with your life, or if you'll have autonomy.
