- Information is a valuable commodity, and as sales people we have access to so much of it since we're in contact with so many different people. Every day we obtain information about the marketplace, our competitors, our accounts and from our own companies. How we handle everything from harmless industry gossip and readily available market data to confidential documents we receive, are important responsibilities as we have as sales professionals. Much of it is common sense or just a part of our job responsibilities, but there are some important ethical standards that you need to follow.
