- If you're selling into tech, you need to understand software. If you're going to sell to hospitals, you need to know about patient care, and if you're going to sell into financial services, you need to know how to read an annual report. Your customers have them, your customers' customers have them, and your company probably has one. An annual report is the report containing financial performance, opportunities, and progress against strategic initiatives. This information is geared to stock holders and investors. So, where do you find this highly coveted information? Well, it's pretty obvious, online. Large financial institutions usually publish their annual report, and if you can't find the annual report, you can find a lot of the information you need in press releases, earnings calls, or through websites like Yahoo!
