How to pitch successfully

- What makes a successful pitch is that you have done your research so you know who you're pitching to, you know that it's relevant to the person. Another component of a successful pitch is that you have a prototype, or you have some kind of release or first permutation of your product so you can say, we've not only built it, we know people are buying it. Or people are at least using it, so that takes away a lot of the fiction, and a lot of the wishful thinking you actually did something. And the third thing is that a pitch should be short. Generally speaking, you'll be pitching to people who have attention deficit. And so my rule of pitching is called the 10, 20, 30 rule which is 10 slides in the pitch, 20 minutes long, 30 point font. And if you do 10, 20, 30 your pitch is better than 95 percent of the pitches in the world already.
