Jeff Layton: One of the things you and I have talked about is that you need exposure to Jeff Layton: learn about new job opportunities. Valerie Sutton: Sure. Jeff Layton: Do you have any advice for how to get that exposure to other roles or other industries? Valerie Sutton: Sure, so there are two things that I would recommend. The first is talking to people. There's a technique called informational interviewing where you go and talk to people about their careers, learning more about what they do on a daily basis, what the career paths are like, what are some of the expected pitfalls of the career, and so it you gives an idea of what may be out there. And then there are a lot of great online resources now that you can use to explore careers, so wetfeet.com or vault.com, as well as using LinkedIn to look at companies that you you may have been interested and say like a lot of people love Google.
