I started my career in construction, as a project manager, and with my very first organization, in time, I became the sustainability person within the organization, and I took over the head of sustainability job to help the organization with their green building jobs. But in a while, I didn't feel like the impact I wanted to make was there. This organization was smaller in size. It was a local construction company. And I knew that I could do more. I can have a bigger impact somewhere else. It was time for me to make my move. Then I approached this nationwide, incredible construction company, that did not have anything focused on sustainability. They liked me, but they said, well, Fulya, we don't have such a position.
