Industry or sector refers to a distinct group of productive or profit-making enterprises. Roles are often transferrable across industries, particularly in your early career. As you move up, this does change as you gain specific knowledge in these industries. Examples of industries are healthcare, higher education, or investment banking, just to name a few.
