- If you're just starting out in your sales career, you might feel like you're at a huge disadvantage relative to your older colleagues who've been investing in their networks for years. And on some level you're right. But I'm going to give you some tips that will help you leap frog your competitors when it comes to building a powerful network. First, remember that most people don't take good care of their networks. They rely on the same old people without building new relationships. All of their contacts are likely to be in the same age group, and they may all work at the same narrow set of companies.
