- There are a lot of conversations these days about how to make work more attractive to employees. Many organizations are offering innovative new ways to work, so if you're not, it might be time to reconsider. Let's talk about some of these alternative work patterns and how you can integrate them into your job design. First is telecommuting, or working virtually. Thanks to technology, workers can communicate and perform their job from home, in hotel rooms, and even in airplanes. I once met a woman on a plane who flew home every Friday morning, but worked on the plane the entire way, so Friday still counted for work.
