- One of the biggest challenges recognized by organizations today is customer service turnover. It's hard to keep people engaged and motivated in dealing with customers. Before looking at ways to reduce turnover, it's important to understand if you actually have a turnover problem. One of the most effective ways to do this, is to simply calculate your turnover rate and then look at other industries, or talk to other companies, or talk to some of your peers and see at what rate they've lost employees in this area. Another way to look at this is to look back at historical trends for your company. Talk to human resources and see what's normal. These initial steps will show you if you have a problem that you need to address. Next, consider talking to your employees themselves.
