- It doesn't matter what you're selling. Every business of every type has the ability to provide their customers with a great customer experience. And make no mistake about it, the experience itself is often the very thing that drives a customer to do business with you again or not. In my opinion, the single most important thing when providing a great customer experience is consistency. Being consistently good in all areas, instead of being really good in a few areas, and just okay in others. If you can be consistent 99% of the time in delivering a really good customer experience, you're going to set yourself apart from the competitors. Here are a few specific ways to provide your customers with an amazing experience every time. First, engage your customers quickly. Our job is to show interest in our customers by being polite, making eye contact, and proactively engaging the customer.
