Companies candidates want to work for

- Imagine your excitement if you were presented an opportunity at your dream company. It wouldn't take much convincing to schedule an interview, right? Well, that's why you want to represent the companies that are the most desirable to the candidates in your niche. So the question now becomes, which companies are the most desirable? How do you know who your candidates really want to talk to? Start by asking every candidate two very important questions. What are the five companies you'd most like to work for, and why? And tell me the five companies you'd never work for and why? The why is as important as the company's name. Your candidates hear things about companies in their industry, things that appeal to them. And as you continue to work in your niche, you'll find there are some companies that are always listed as the most desirable. Those are the companies you want to represent. Candidates also know why they feel strongly about not working at certain companies. If you present an opportunity at one of these companies, your candidates would wonder why you didn't know this is not a great place to work and you could lose credibility. These are not the companies you want to represent. However, these companies are perfect Recruiting Targets. It should be easy to recruit candidates from a company with a bad reputation. Next, do a Google search for the best companies to work for. There is list of the top 100 companies to work for in every industry, location, and demographic. These lists also include details as to why a company is selected. When you land clients who are on these lists, recruiting and booking candidates will be easy. Finally, subscribe to the trade publications representing your niche and other leading business publications like Forbes, Bloomberg, and Inc. Look for articles about industry or company growth, major contracts being signed, or change of leadership. These are all hiring triggers. There's always a much bigger pool of potential clients than there are desirable clients. When you take time to identify and land the best companies, you'll be able to recruit the top talent these companies will hire.
