Communicating nonverbally

- Whether or not you're actually speaking during the presentation, everyone on the team is on display. Your facial expressions and body language signal messages to your audience. These messages can add to or detract from the audience's overall impression of your team's presentation. This is something we seldom think about. While our teammates are speaking, most of us spend that time thinking about the portion of the presentation we're delivering. When you zone out, your body language shows it. The lack of interest is apparent to the audience and sends a negative message. The best way to appear engaged is to actually listen to your teammates as they present. This is especially helpful for three reasons. The first reason you want to listen closely is to make sure you know exactly what's been said so that you don't say anything to contradict a prior speaker.
