Committing to your career change

- Investigating and planning for your career isn't an overnight venture. And not having a career plan can lead to missed opportunities. So if you want to develop confidence in moving forward in your career, you need to have a strategic approach to understanding how you fit into the job market, and how you can build key career skills. A good initial plan for those in their early career will take time and effort. It will also be the building block as you move through your career. How much time you spend on this course will depend largely on your preferences. However, I do suggest a few strategies to get the most from this course. Look at your calendar, and set aside some time in which you'll be able to work uninterrupted. You'll want time not only for watching, but also for reflection, taking assessments, and getting feedback. To get the most from this course, you'll want to download the assessments and guides that are available in the exercise files, and fill them out as we go along. For those looking for a job, this should be a full-time job. If you're unhappy in your current position and want an immediate change, you should schedule at least an hour a day. For those that are just exploring options, you'll want to set aside at least an hour a week. How much time you spend is up to you. Be realistic, everyone will be different. Setting this schedule is the foundation for building your career. By following this schedule, you'll be making progress toward a career plan that is right for you.
