So, I'm gonna give you a set of coaching practices and development tools to use in your daily conversations. These tools will take the heavy lifting off of you, and place responsibility squarely with your employee. Throughout this course, we'll be showing short vignettes with Michelle, a manager, and Eric, one of her employees. These demonstrations will help you put the coaching skills and practices I'm teaching into use right away. In baseball, you might coach a player to refine their stance, their grip, and their swing, but you don't run the bases for them.
So coaching is not doing, and it's not telling people what to do. It's guiding, questioning, prompting, and encouraging forward movement.
