- Once you know who you're trying to reach, you can choose the tactics that will best help you build trust with them. You need to determine where those people can be found, both in person and digitally. There are many organizations specifically set up to facilitate business networking. Here's a few of them. BNI, Business Networking International, the world's largest networking group known for their Givers Gain philosophy. LeTip is another referral network similar to BNI but a little smaller. Your neighborhood chamber of commerce can be an effective place to build your network, but you'll likely need to volunteer. If you're running a good-sized business, you should definitely look into YPO, Young Presidents' Organization, which for an annual fee organizes and facilitates small groups of noncompetitive executives.
