- Working from home, no one dragging you to long meetings and crowded conference rooms, being free from office politics and gossip, and the ability to manage your own schedule just like you own your own business: sounds good to me, and these are just some of the things that make being a field sales representative such an attractive opportunity for so many people. A good percentage of sales people thrive on that freedom and are able to really shine; however, getting into that comfort zone of working remotely doesn't happen immediately, and for some sales people it just isn't the right fit. I believe that it takes a special breed of person to work as a field representative, and for all of the positive I can talk about there are an equal amount of red flags that you need to be aware of and be able to overcome and manage.
