Balancing your time for social networking

Well social networking can be an incredible tool to help you build connections, it can get in the way of how valuable you are, if it causes you to lose focus. We have all gone on to a social networking site, only to get sucked into random links pictures or online games. In order to help you maintain focus and build connections at the same time you will want to establish a time budget. A time budget is very simple. It says this is how much time I am willing to devote each day or each week to using social networking sites.

Ask yourself how much time you think you need to devote to these sites. The number will vary according to who you are and your position. If most of your connections are online then you want to devote more time to it, perhaps a half an hour or even an hour per day. If online networking is not as important for you or for your target market then you may want to spend a half an hour to an hour per week.
